New York Fashion week, sept 10, 2012, at Rag & Bone fashion show
Zana Roberts is coming. My eagle eyes spoted her from 1 miles away. Yes, God, if exists, gave me eagle eyes to help me to spot naturaly beautiful and stylish women and more than that, to spot angels coming down from the sky. Or cab, or subway,… Angels, anyway.
I love what I do : trying to create instant post cards on the go. Very difficult to do cause many parameters to handle, to deal with : the background, the cars, the passers, the buildings, the fact that I must wait that her blond hair move through a draker background. The way Zana walks, the way her body moves, her pace, the inclinaison of her head, her face expression… It looks like invisible to you but they are indeed all the parameters I must handle every time I decide to take someone in picture. Why so much work for just a picture ? Because when you are lucky enough to meet great people, great women that offer you their generosity and complicity, you must honor that by offering a great memory. Not a street style picture. I said : “a great memory”. Moments are magical cause they are unique. It’s now or never. Being able to loose everytime, make your success aven greater. The day you are not afraid anymore to loose a picture, the day you understand that if you can’t offer a great picture to your “model” you don’t try to take it anyway (and bother her), the day you understand the difference between street style photography and humanist photography, a new world of natural beauty and complicity will appear to you. You must have bigger dreams than wanting your street style photograph published in a magazine despite the fact that your photograph are awful. Go beyond that short term and greed vision and elevate your photography to art. Money will come someday. Don’t worry.

Have a great day my friends, and for my self, I have no words strong enough to thank Zana Roberts for her complicity, for sharing my values about natural beauty and humanist street style photography. I can’t wait to surprise her again at the next New York Fashion Week and offer her new sweet memories.
