New York Fashion Week – feb. 13. Last day tomorrow.
Dear friends, dear readers. I am happy. I am happy because every fashion week is for me a great opportunity to appreciate the beauty of real life, the beauty of generosity, the beauty of humanist street style photography. Year after year, fashion week after fashion week, fashion show after fashion show, I do my best, to improve my art of humanist street style photography. As a result, I have the pleasure to receive compliments from people from fashion or fans of Style and the City. If I am always very grateful, I always have the same answer :
THERE IS NO GREAT PICTURES WITHOUT GREAT PEOPLE.
This picture bellow is beautiful because of Francesca Burns’s kindness, generosity, complicity. And when you’ll see very soon all the pictures of her story, you’ll appreciate and love Francesca Burns even more. Why ? Because when we are surprised by something, our true nature reveals itself first. It’s instinctive. And instinctively, Francesca Burns brightened my morning with a simple gift that we all can offer to others : despite the cold she greeted me with a sweet smile and a warm “Hello”.

A humanist street style photograph is the total opposit of a street style picture that magazines publish. Humanist street style photography doesn’t focuse on clothes, accessories, no, not at all. Humanist street style photography’s first and only goal is to reveal people’s inner natural beauty. And as I love the beauty of life, I add some filters like “Love”, “Friendship”, “Glamour”, “Sexiness”. I can’t take any picture if I can’t tell you a story, if the composition of the pictures is not “perfect”. A picture is a gift, a humanist street style photograph is a painting and women its colors. How many stylish women I didn’t take in pictures because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to take a GREAT picture that honor them ! A lot.
I quit a french fashion magazine and a cool salary ($4 500) because our values were different. I want to see life through the lense of love, not through the lense of money. If I take a person in picture, it’s because I artisticaly felt in love with this person. My heart is on every of my pictures. Money is a commodity, it comes and goes. But my values are the light house that leads my life throughout all my projects and my relationship with people. Therefore, I have no words strong enough to thank all these persons that help me to humanize fashion. No photoshop. The natural beauty of life is the best special effect I can put over my pictures. And I hope you’ll enjoy it. Francesca Burns, Ece Sukan, Tina Leung, Leandra Medine, Ellin Kling, Shala Monroque, Giovanna Battaglia, Anna Dello Russo, Shiona Turini, Johanna Hillman, Annely Mustafara, Nausheen Shah, Natasha Goldenberg, my new handsome and stylish friends, Ahmed Braimah and Jordan Yates, and so many others : thank you. See you tomorrow. I’ll try to surprise you.
