Hi everybody, hi dear readers and fans around the world. I take the opportunity that the huge numerous storms in Paris and France haven’t turn me into a frog yet to share with you a sweet encounter from my 3 month stay in New York last year.
What I love about humanist photography is that we try to reveal a human side of a person, of our society. I am a very sensitive person. I cry easily when something moves me and I get upset easily when I see greed behaviors. Because of this sensitivity, whenever I can, I try to convince myself that people have a good side, have a generous side. That’s why, when I notice that people get upset first when they see me taking them in picture, I always tell myself : “Kamel, do you feel kindness in this or these person ?”. If my heart says “YES”, I do my best to make this person switch on their good side.
When I my feeling is right, I always succeed to create a great atmosphere that will brighten my “models” personalities. Witnessing kindness toward me from an unknown person helps me to believe in human beings. I need that to move on, I need to believe that behind fear, there’s always a generous side that just need to be reinsured. I just have few seconds to do it. It’s not easy. But it’s because it’s not easy that someone has to do it.
It’s very hard for me to live in Paris and France. Racism and corporate jealousy and fear is killing me, is killing this country. The far right party is almost the second most important political party in France. France is doomed and won’t bounce back. To keep me away from killing myself, I focus on my work, on what I am capable of doing. Leaving Paris and France to move in New York in September will be the first step. There is a storm inside me and I hope I will go over it.[Not a valid template]
