I knew this was coming : grandpas doing street style. If that is not a sign that street style phenomenon has reached its peak to become has been, what else can it be ! LOL. For the past 3 years I saw amazing things attending fashion weeks : heavily pregnant women with camera trying to take pictures in a busy crowded and dangerous area for her baby. I remember seeing a pregnant woman with her long lens and beside her, a troller with her baby sleeping. I was so disgusted by such behavior. When you carry a baby and have you little kid in a troller, I think that attending a crowded and crazy fashion week location to do street style should the the least of your priority.
With the democratization and dropping prices of cameras, everybody want to take pictures. Whether it’s their feet, their drinks at Starbucks, their fries on the plate… These last years have been more weird than ever. I was already mad about the explosion amount of street style photographers and their greed behaviors, now I am shocked. I am shocked because 99% of people attending fashion week to do street style don’t do it for passion, or to learn the art of photography. They don’t do it with love and respect. You see them running and stoping women and you understand that their priority is not to honor the person by offering a great pictures but to take a picture.
LOVE, RESPECT, GENEROSITY, ART have always been the center of all the project I achieved and will achieved in my life. I am just sad to see that too many people in this world and in this world of street style photography don’t share these values.
6 years ago, Fashion weeks were like a poetry for me. Women could walk peacefully, laugh with their friends without being chased, stopped every 5 m. There were so much grace. Just check out my formers fashion week coverage to see that. Now, the insane amount of street style photographer make it so hard to capture real beautiful moments of life that it’s time for me to start the second life of Style and the City. With no photographers around me any more. I promise you much more fun and a amazing experience. Stay tuned.
