I hate Derek Blasberg as much as I like him.
He is taller than me, he is much more stylish than I am, he is more handsome than my mother think I am, he is always accompanied by gorgeous women like his friend Giovanna Battaglia in addition to make them all laugh, making him a very delighting, adorable man. Desirable in a word ! And for that, I hate him. LOL. Ok, may be I sound jealous but I can’t help myself to admire him for being such a cool adorable man. (Remember my musical slideshow about “Cool, sexy men of New York“)
To tell you the truth, I don’t know Derek Blasberg that much. I am not the kind of street style photographer that will do his best to aggressively befriend with the most influent people in fashion media. Humanism and sincerity is my way of life. I prefer to let life decide of the nature of my relationship with a person. And when I talk about “life”, I talk about what my actions, decisions will lead me toward. Of course, I always greet Derek when I see him, especially as he is always with beautiful women, lol. But I never tried aggressively to became his friend. He has enough friends I believe, lol. What I do instead is watching him interacting with people, with women. That’s the best way to know a person I think. And the least I can say, is that all people I saw talking to him where kind of brightened by his presence. Just check any of my pictures of Derek Blasberg : all women that are with him are happy, smiling, laughing because of him, of his irresistible humour. Even Jessica Seinfeld, who has a personal “comedy” master of his domain at home, can’t resist at Derek’s humour.
It’s important for me to take pictures of happiness during fashion week. If I always talk about capturing women’s natural glamour through amazing natural pictures, happiness is the fuel of my life, of my work. Derek, if you happen to read this article, I would like to thank you for all the sweet moments you allowed me to take in pictures. It’s my last fashion week ever because now, there is way too many street style photographers as you can see it in these pictures that makes capturing sweet moments of life too difficult. In this encounter, you saw me taking you in picture and you let it go, as usual. I could have run to place myself in front of you both but I think it was unnecessary in addition to be disrespectful. So, thank you for your complicity once again. See you on the streets of New York hopefully. I wish you the best.
Miss Jessica Seinfeld, if you happen to read my post, I want you to know that your husband “saved” my life. Twice. When my job as a TV host in France stopped, I decided to create the first Stand up comedy festival in France because I fell in Love with … “Seinfeld” TV show and especially the art of stand up comedy like Jerry Seinfeld performs it. Thank’s to “Seinfeld”, I created the first and biggest stand up comedy festival in Paris and France that helped to create the first TV show about french stand up comedians.
Jerry Seinfeld saved my life a second time, after I quit french female magazines. Female magazines and I don’t share the same humanist values. After quitting the french female press industry, I was wondering what I could do with my life. Then, I discovered a biography about Jerry Seinfeld that I immediately ordered at Amazon. What I read about his dedication, his love for stand up comedy, what I learnt about his work ethic helped me like nobody else did in my life to overtake the challenges of my life. Believe it or not, Jerry Seinfeld helped me to never let it down, to keep working hard and believing in my vision. Jerry helped me to create Style and the City, to believe in my mission in humanizing fashion and helping women to find self confidence and to keep working hard to achieve my dreams. 6 years later, Style and the City is one of the most famous, most innovative and influent street style blog in the world inspiring thousand street style photographers. Few weeks ago, I left Paris to move in New York to meet people that will inspire and help me to achieve my dreams. It reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld’s first TV appearance on national TV, on Johnny Carson TV show. It was a changing life experience for Jerry, and the rest is history.
I know that moving in New York will change my life too and make my coming years history too. At least in my life and my mother’s life too. LOL. Miss Seinfeld, if you happen to read me, could you just tell to mister Jerry Seinfeld, that in addition to have made millions of people laugh around the world, he also saved the life of a french guy in Paris, twice. Thank you very much. See you on the streets of New York. I’ll do my best to capture your natural glamour like I did for these beautiful women in this slideshow and this one and thousands other pictures. I am small, I can hide myself between cabs and even strollers. LOL.
