I am not a photographed sent by fashion and women magazines to take pictures of stylish women and ask them to give me the brands of their outfit. Women are not and will never be coat stands for me. They are human beings like me, like you. We are not objects, we are human with feelings. Magazines forgot it. Style and the City is not a magazine. Style and the City is my baby, a beautiful human baby with feelings. A baby that will allways look where others don’t look…
Life is full of beautiful treasures… And as the founder of Style and the City, as lover of real life, real women, my duty is to find that treasures. Whereas all the photographers talk with policemen…
Whereas other have a rest…
whereas everybody is to busy… I am like a treasure hunter, and Oh my God ! how I like it ! How I like to see what others don’t see…
Because it is where the challenge is the greatest. Make a women as beautiful as a model, make her picture as beautiful as a Picasso painting… God gave me 2 eyes, Nikon gave my a brand new Camera. Sandy gave me 2 minutes of her time and her best gift for a photographer : her kindness, trust and generosity. To thank her, I wanted to be perfectionist by finding a new place for her…
by taking her bag off the picture…
by trying new framings…
When I showed her her pictures, she was so happy, but I was even more happy : I saw her eyes. So beautiful…
And then, I decided to put a smile on her face : I found a joke that worked (thank you my stand up comedy shows !), Sandy smiled and I was no more with a natural beauty but a sweet angel. Not naked but with fur. lol
When a woman is so generous, I do my best to make the best picture that will honour that.
Nikon gave me their brand new Camera, the D90, to support me during my fashion week coverage.They refused several times before to support me. Desperate, I worked nights and days on the design and the fonctionalities of my new Style and the City website (that’s whay I was si tired this month) in the hope to show them before I go to New York. My last card, my Joker. I sent them the draft and they so loved it that they called me straight away to gave me their new camera D90.
Was it a sign of God ? No. God has nothing to do with your life. You manage your life, you are the only one in charge of what you have. Without this new camera I wouldn’t have been able to do this picture or any of all the pictures of my fashion week. I dedicate my whole month to work hard to convince Nikon to lend me their camera. I succeeded. If I succeeded, you can succeed as well, because I am not different than you. I know the kind of life I want for me and my children and do and will do all the sacrifices necessary to achieve my goal. You are like me : have dreams, but don’t forget to achieve them. I’ll do my best to help you because when I talk about me, finally I talk about you. My sacrifices are my way to show you a path. It’s up to you to walk or not.
I promised you a beautiful sunset on New York from the Empire State Building. Did I kept my words ? Check !

congrats on your new camera, i am so glad you got it! i think it is a great reward for your effort. By the way, you are so right about god having nothing to do with our life, i love people who believe that from life, you get only as much as you are willing to take.
now (finally) about the pics – women are amazing, NYC also but i am glad you’re going back to paris. i enjoyed NY Fashion Week but i like spontanious women from paris morethan those who were quite sure they’ll be photographed (if you understand what i mean…). Nevertheless, fantastic job – now rest because you deserved it! and in the nearest future, i am waiting for parisian women because i haven’t seen them for a while

I am back to Paris and It’s like before : I am struggling between launching my website, earn some money to pay my rent, take some pictures, see friends and have some rest.
But I am revigorate now, New York fashion week was very great for me, and watching the sunset from the roof of the Empire state building was a great souvenir.

Dear Kamel, as usual I enjoy watching your photos! I watch it every time when I’m not busy and receive a bulk of positive emotions! I was a very tired because of enormous number of exams, so I hadn’t left comments here for a long time, but I was following all your adventures;) Congrats with a new camera, you deserve it! Je constate tjrs que tu es o top en ce qui concerne les photos et tes documentaires décidement tu ne làche rien c çà t ds le vrai. Je t dis ça car j’y connaisais rien au monde la mode et ne voulais rien savoir pour cause un monde virtuel bref… Ton travaille si j’ai compris est de rendre bo les gens et rare sont ceux qui arrive car trop bizness, toi a travers tous cela il y a une àme c’est ca d’etre un artiste…
