Teresa Elle : “Kamel, where are my pictures ???”
Like hundreds of stylish girls and women that I took in pictures at every fashion shows during Milan, Paris and New York fashion week, Teresa Elle was dying to see her pictures, especially on Style and the City. And I understand her. Always stylish, her kindness towards street style photographers makes her even more beautiful. If you add a great touch of humanism and art, the result is always stuning. Even when she doesn’t know that I am taking her in pictures. Remember this former New York fashion week at Lincoln center… And if you vist other articles on Style and the City, you’ll discover her great sens of style that will inspire many of you I’m sure.
I could turn Style and the City into a stupid street style pictures catalogue : no humanity, just boring and unartistic pictures. I don’t want and I will never do that. You know now my philosphy about street style photography : women and men are not coat racks. Their outfit doesn’t brighten them, it’s quite the contrary : their personality brightens their outfit because style is just the cloth of your personality.
Writing an article that showcases a person’s personality takes more time thant just posting stupid street style pictures. That’s why Teresa I couldn’t post your pictures sooner : cause I like your personality and I wanted people to know that you are not only a very stylish girl but a very generous person. I love to take you in pictures with your mother as you know cause it means a lot : you have a great sens of family and that’s a very important values nowadays.
Do you remember this morning at Ralph Lauren, where photographers were stoping you every minutes to take you in pictures. As I was watching you aggreeing always with a sweet smile for them, I was wondering how could I offer you great pictures, different from what they were doing. And then I remember one of my teen icon, Farrah Fawcett, from Charlie’s angels TV show in the 70′. She was the ultimate woman : gorgeously beautiful and stylish whatever she wears. Suddenly I understood what to do and how to be different in the tiny location where we were. I told you to follow me and to let me coach you. the light was perfect, the situation was perfect, no photographer was following me to steal my work… You trusted me and… the result shows once again that the great secret of photogenic is generosity. Terasa I thank you very much for this another cool moment of complicity. I wish you all the best and hope to surprise you once again… Kindest regards to your mother.
