Yes, Paris fashion week haute couture VS my sweet street style Manhattan memories. That’s the non-fight I propose you. Non-fight because despite the fact that Male Paris fashion week and Paris fashion week haute couture are happening right now, I don’t care at all. Why ? Because I don’t want to meet all these street style photographers. I meet them enough times during the year. I don’t care about the Paris fashion week haute couture because what I am looking for is to tell stories throught my pictures. And the best stories I can tell happen during Ready to wear New York fashion week and then Paris fashion week. Then, I don’t want people from fashion to see me again and again. I want to let them breath and be happy to see me again. I don’t want to be a photographing machine. I want to stay an artiste and an artis must refresh his creativity.
That’s why I am happy to dig into my archives, into my pictures from my 3 months stay in Manhattan, last year, from april to june 2012. And what I can tell you my dear friends : New York is amazing, New York is so much more energizing than Paris. There is so many great events, so many “open minded” people, you can feel a so positive energy compared to Paris that once you tasted “New York”, Paris taste savourless. Lors of people who never went to Paris are still blinded by the touristic and romantic “image” of Paris. But come and live 3 months and you’ll see by yourself. Try to find a job, try to propose or launch projects, you’ll see by yourself why I urge french talent sto quit Paris and try to move to New York to achieve their dreams.
What was this fashion event ? I don’t remember any more my friends. It was a fashion award in june 2012 at Lincoln center. Beautiful people, gorgeous women, amzing dresses and outfits… It was marvellous. I wasn’t invited but it’s ok. My life is about creation, and someday I will create my own events like I did in Paris. And like in Paris, I promise you to gather 800 persons 3 nights in a row !
What I love in New York it’s that 99% of people I meet understand what I do and play the game, play my game. The game of generosity, the game of fun. I don’t care about high heels and it bag, I care about creating a nice ambiance, that will lead to a sweet complicity and a great serie of pictures. Memories are my treasures.
When I decide to take people in picture, I never know how it will end. I take risk but it always worthes it. The street is my stage, life is my movies. I try to direct it sometimes but the best movies life offer me are the movies that my random models direct with me.
Someday, my futur children will read this blog and I hope that they love what they see and what they read. They are the first persons I created Style and the City for. Have a great day my friends and see you tomorrow for another Dose of Happiness.
