Hi everybody. It’s sunday, it’s sunny and I hope you have a great day. Some of you might still not be aware that I have an Instagram account too where I post 3 to 4 pictures a day with a story attached to them. It can be a funny story, real or fictive, or a piece of wisdom that I want to share with you.
On the blog I can post entire series of pictures so that you can see what really happens during fashion week, how my encounters evolve. For exemple, during the last Paris fashion week haute couture, I discovered how the adorable Miroslava Duma forget about the street style photographer craziness that surround her every time she appears. he outfit gave me the answer indeed : she wears a mental armor that make her forget about the circus around her. And believe me, this circus can be insane.
I remember a scene in march that just amazed me as a humanist photographer. It was after Louis Vuitton fashion show. Mira was desperately looking for her french driver. Unfortunately, her driver couldn’t speak english and Mira couldn’t speak french. I saw her trying to communicate with him on the phone and I could see her desperation. I wanted to help me but photographers were yelling at me to stay out of their lens as they were constantly taking her pictures. I couldn’t help my self to think : “Guys ! How many pictures do you need ? Don’t you see that Mira needs help !”. Photographers were witnessing the same thing than me but al what they were caring about was to take more and more pictures of Mira. It pissed me off so much that I some point I joined Mira and ask if I could help her. She hold me her phone and talked to her driver. He explained me where is car was parked and I was able to lead Mira directly to her driver. Photographers couldn’t help to yell at me again, those photographer who already took hundreds of pictures of Miroslava. Just insane. A photograph is a gift you do to the person you take in picture. Without respect and love, without compassion and care, there is no picture t be taken. Point. That’s how I see my work on Style and the City. If you love Mira as much as I do, here’s Mira’s Instagram page.
As mus as I can, I try to see if there is new faces I could discover. Why ? Because every person has her own personality, her how charm, her own expression, her own apprehension of photographers. I never saw this beautiful face ever before few weeks ago. She was shy or intimidated by me, I don’t know. I did my best to capture something special… You tell me if I succeeded.
Grace is often synonyme of simplicity for me… And because I love women’s curves, every time the outfit allows me to reveal how mother nature is kind with me, I do it, because I know you will love it too.
When I started street style photographers 7 years ago, models could walk peacefully without being stopped every 10 seconds. 7 years later, it’s a complete different story. Some of them have 3 to 4 shows a day : you can imagine how insane is their day, how in rush they constantly are. Yet, virtually all of them will kindly stop to let photographers and fans take their pictures. What makes me laugh is that many times, when models see me taking their pictures from far away, where they come close to me, they want to pose for me. And I say : “No, no, keep walking, do as if I wasn’t there, I prefer to capture your natural beauty, your natural charm.” And they laugh and I love them even more. Who is this blond angel ? I don’t know. if you recognize her, please, leave me her name so that I can thank her again.
This fashion week haute couture was the opportunity for me to discover new beautiful women like Tetya Motoya. I took her pictures because she will remind you that simplicity is the ultimate chic. She discovered my picture of her on Instagram and we befriended. You can follow her on Tetya’Instagram page too.
Fashion week would be fashion week without Elena Perminova. Always an inspiration for women and for young mother. Her family is growing and if you don’t know her well, here’s Elena’s Instagram page. You’ll be delighted, I’m sure.
Xenia Solovieva is one of the most beautiful women of the fashion week. Always elegant in a simple way that make you think :” Yes ! It’s possible !”. I love her sweet smile. I do my best to always hide myself in order to capture a candid picture of her, but she always end to see me. I wish I could be invisible someday.
Thank you for dropping by dear readers. I have lots of pictures waiting for to be posted. I have great pictures about models being “chased” by photographers and some are quite funny. Online tomorrow or on Tuesday. Stay tuned and don’t forget to subscribe to the newsletter !
Kindest regards, Kamel.
