Hi everybody! I hope you are enjoying your day or evening. As you read this, you may know that the New York Fashion week ended last Thursday and that the London Fashion week started today. I won’t attend any other fashion week because street style photography such became a big circus that’s it’s almost impossible for me to capture real moments of life, that are not fake for the purpose of a shooting that is aimed to be posted on Instagram and collect likes. The insane amount of street style photographers turned the art of street style photography into a paparazzi guerrilla and I don’t want to be part of this mess. It’s getting too bad and will get even worse in the next edition. It’s life, it’s what human beings are good at: destroying the beauty of this world, turning mother Earth into a big garbage can.
But there’s hope and I still see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope is represented to me by 2 things :
– what I am building with my 2 young partners: a mobile video app that will help models make a decent living.
– the smiles, the generosity that people from fashion I’ve been shooting for years keep offering me as they see me hustling for a good shot.
Some journalists asked me what I was trying to accomplish. I told them that while other photographers take pictures of clothes, I prefer to take picture of human beings, to capture moments that tell a story. Because at the end of the day, the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. And I see beauty in human beings, not clothes.
This New York fashion week was tougher than usual. Stylish girls like blogger Sofie Valkiers will always attract photographers compelling her to stop, pose and give the list of the brands she wears on.
For me, style is just the clothe of your personality. That’s why, Alexis Bryan Morgan can turn into a blondie as much as she wants, her heart remains the same: generous.
Gala Gonzalez is one of the most look after fashion blogger too. her impeccable style turns her into a fashion inspiration for millions fashionistas and the hundreds street style photographers from all fashion weeks.
I wish I could know everybody in order to inform them when I post their pictures and thank them again. If you wonder if she smiled at me, the answer is: of course !
I met Ece Sukan, Vogue Turkie fashion editor 7 years ago. She was so gorgeous in her tigh leather dress. Former model, the art of posing is now part of her.
Jane Keltner Duval has a special position in my heart. She is so discreet, so shy, she looks like and angel. I don’t try to engage in a heavy conversation with whenever I encounter her. For me our relationship is waht t is supposed to be: an silent angel.
Mirosalava Duma has martured so much. I remember her as a young girl 7 years ago. Now she is a mother and build a fashion media empire in East Europe called Buro 247. The young flower blossomed into a successful business woman and mother. Congratulation Mira.
Shiona Turni is one of my favorite girl. Why? Because most of the time she is laughing and making her friends laugh. I missed her laughs during this New York fashion week because of the insane amount of street style photographers. But I have a smile ! lol.
Brian Boy learnt that day that it’s not easy to light up a cigarette when you have so many friends that like you and want to say hi.
Natalie Joos has a qualiti that I love: her style will always brigthen your day with her colors. Upon it, you’ll always be greeeted with a beautiful smile that says : “Have a wonderful day whoever you are!”.
Least but not last: it’s never over. As soon as a show is over, you must get a cab or your driver as fast as possible to get to the next show or to your room to change your outfit for, you know, promote brands on Instagram. lol.
I have so many people to thank, so many memories to share… I may forget some. Please, don’t hesitate to email me to ask for your pictures (tell me the exact date, the show and send me a picture of your outfit that day).
And now, enjoy this Jason Wu first guests! I will post a new article tomorrow or on Monday.
